When the cutting speed is too low, the sufficient combustion and heat release of oxygen and the slow movement of the laser beam will cause certain over-melting marks on the cutting edge of the workpiece, the slit will be wider, and the bottom will have obvious over-melting phenomenon. Appears very rough. When the cutting speed is too fast, the material cannot be completely cut through due to the short residence time of the heat in the local area, and the material is sticky. Only when the speed is moderate, the material can be cut through without affecting the quality of the cutting edge, and the workpiece can be cut perfectly, and the workpiece section appears smooth.

Correlation between material thickness and cutting speed:

Generally speaking, the cutting speed is inversely proportional to the thickness of the material. The thicker the material, the slower the appropriate cutting speed. And for a given laser power density and material, the cutting speed of the material is proportional to the laser power density, that is, increasing the power density can increase the cutting speed. Under the same power, as the thickness of the cutting material increases, the cutting speed will decrease. If the same cutting speed is to be maintained, the laser power must be increased.
